The Creative Industries Development Service (CIDS) works to help new and established creative businesses, whilst also taking a strategic overview of the sector and developing projects in response to industry needs.
We offer a range of communication services to help creative businesses by offering them information, opportunities and everything they need to know in this fast-changing sector. This includes publishing CREATIVE Times - the UK’s trade journal for the creative industries, its digital sister CREATIVE Times Online and CREATIVE Times e-newsletters. In addition, we publish the Creative Annual, which is designed to showcase the Creative Industries to businesses across the wider economy.
CIDS run events and networking opportunities designed to bring together creative professionals from across the sector to share experiences, swap knowledge and develop contacts. This includes The Loop for established businesses and Focal Point for new and emerging businesses.
We also provide a range of consultancy services, harnessing on our long established position within the creative sector. This includes research, strategy development, action planning, capacity building, managing, evaluating and monitoring projects and network development.
CIDS is a not-for profit limited company. Any surplus income is invested back into our services to support the creative industries.
